CEREUS MEDIA ENGINE (CME) PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
Cereus Media Engine ("CME") is a content creation and publishing automation tool operated by Cereus Enterprises LLC ("Cereus Enterprises," "we," "our," or "us").
This Privacy Policy explains how CME handles information when it connects to Google and YouTube, prepares video content, and uploads approved videos to YouTube.
Questions about this policy can be sent to cereusenterprises@gmail.com.
2. SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
CME is a privately operated publishing tool. It is not available for public registration.
This policy describes CME's current publishing tool, which runs on a computer operated by Cereus Enterprises. A separate web-based version of CME is under development and is not currently in use. We will update this policy before that version handles any user information.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND PROCESS
YouTube authorization information When an authorized operator connects a YouTube account, Google issues OAuth access and refresh tokens that allow CME to perform the YouTube actions described in Section 4. CME never requests, sees, or stores the Google account password. Sign-in takes place on Google's own pages.
Information received from YouTube CME does not read data from the connected YouTube channel. The only information CME receives from YouTube is the identifier of each video it uploads. CME also records the video's watch address (URL), which is derived from that identifier.
Video and publishing information CME processes:
video files, thumbnails, and their details, such as titles, descriptions, tags, category, and privacy setting;
content review and approval records;
upload status, timestamps, and publishing history;
records used to prevent duplicate uploads and to troubleshoot failed or uncertain uploads.
Operational records CME keeps logs of publishing activity, upload attempts, and authorization status.
4. YOUTUBE API SERVICES
CME uses YouTube API Services to upload approved videos to an authorized YouTube channel.
By using CME's YouTube features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Information collected or processed by Google is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
CME requests one Google OAuth permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload CME uses this permission to upload videos to the authorized channel and to set a custom thumbnail for each video it uploads. CME does not request permission to read channel data, and it does not use this permission to view, edit, or delete existing videos.
Videos are uploaded as public, unlisted, or private according to CME's publishing settings. CME is currently set to publish approved videos publicly.
CME's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
5. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to:
prepare, review, and publish video content;
maintain the authorized YouTube connection;
upload approved videos and their thumbnails to YouTube;
keep publishing history and prevent duplicate uploads;
diagnose authorization problems and publishing errors;
respond to privacy and deletion requests.
We do not sell personal information.
6. HOW CREDENTIALS AND DATA ARE STORED
CME stores Google OAuth tokens in a credential file on the computer that operates CME. The tokens are used only to authorize YouTube uploads and thumbnail updates, and to renew authorization without repeated sign-in. CME does not apply its own encryption to this file. We protect it by restricting access to the operating computer to authorized operators.
CME also keeps its publishing records on that computer, including approval information, upload attempts, YouTube video identifiers, and activity logs.
CME is stored in that computer's Desktop folder, and Microsoft OneDrive Desktop backup is enabled on the computer. As a result, CME's files, including the OAuth credential file and the publishing records described above, are backed up to Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage.
7. SHARING INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES
Google and YouTube When CME uploads a video, it sends the video file, thumbnail, title, description, tags, category, and privacy setting to YouTube. Publicly published videos and their public details can be viewed by anyone on YouTube.
Content production services CME may use the following services to create content before upload:
Anthropic, for text generation of scripts and video descriptions;
ElevenLabs, for voice narration and transcription;
Pexels, for stock footage search;
FASHN, for AI-generated product imagery. These services receive the content they need to perform their task. CME does not send Google user data, such as OAuth tokens or YouTube video identifiers, to these services. Each service's own privacy policy governs how it handles information.
Cloud storage and backup Microsoft stores backup copies of CME's files through Microsoft OneDrive, as described in Section 6. These copies may include the OAuth credential file and YouTube video identifiers. Microsoft's handling of stored files is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Legal requirements We may disclose information when required by applicable law.
We do not sell Google user data to anyone.
8. REVOKING YOUTUBE ACCESS
You can revoke CME's access to your YouTube account at any time in your Google Account security settings: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions
You can also ask us to revoke it by emailing cereusenterprises@gmail.com. When we revoke CME's authorization, CME asks Google to cancel it. Once Google confirms, CME deletes the token and the stored YouTube video identifiers and watch addresses from its records on the operating computer.
Revoking authorization with Google makes the token unusable, including any copy of it that remains in a backup. Our deletion applies to CME's records on the operating computer only. Copies previously backed up to Microsoft OneDrive, including earlier versions in OneDrive version history and deleted files in the OneDrive recycle bin, may remain until they are removed from OneDrive or expire under OneDrive's retention settings.
Revoking access does not delete videos already uploaded to YouTube. You can manage those videos in YouTube Studio.
9. DATA RETENTION
YouTube video identifiers and watch addresses CME includes a cleanup process that deletes stored YouTube video identifiers and watch addresses from its records on the operating computer once they are older than 28 days. This cleanup is currently run manually from time to time and is not automatically scheduled. As a result, identifiers may sometimes remain in CME's records for longer than 28 days before the next cleanup. Backup copies in Microsoft OneDrive, including version history and the recycle bin, may retain them after a cleanup, as described in Section 8.
OAuth tokens OAuth tokens are kept until the authorization is revoked or the token is deleted.
CME content and publishing records Videos, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, approval records, upload status, and timestamps are kept as long as needed to operate the publishing workflow and prevent duplicate uploads, or until deleted at your request.
10. DATA DELETION REQUESTS
To request deletion of CME information, email cereusenterprises@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the relevant account or records. We will review your request, explain what can be deleted, and confirm when deletion from CME's records on the operating computer is complete.
Deleting information from CME's records does not automatically remove copies previously backed up to Microsoft OneDrive. Earlier versions in OneDrive version history and deleted files in the OneDrive recycle bin may remain until they are removed from OneDrive or expire under OneDrive's retention settings. When we respond to your request, we will tell you whether such backup copies may still exist.
Deleting CME information does not delete videos already uploaded to YouTube. You can manage those videos in YouTube Studio.
11. WEBSITE COOKIES AND ANALYTICS
This policy is published on the Cereus Enterprises website. The website's hosting platform may use cookies or similar technologies for site functionality, security, and analytics. CME's publishing tool operates separately from this website and does not use cookies.
12. SECURITY
We take reasonable steps intended to protect information used by CME, including restricting access to the computer that operates CME and keeping the credential file out of shared source code. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
CME is a privately operated business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, email cereusenterprises@gmail.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as CME's features or our legal obligations change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
